Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump holds a campaign rally at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, Florida, U.S. November 8, 2023. A New York federal judge on Thursday rejected — for now, at least — a request by a law firm to withdraw from representing the presidential campaign of Donald Trump in a discrimination lawsuit by former 2016 campaign advisor Arlene "A.J." In addition to the Trump campaign, the firm represents the other defendants in Delgado's suit: Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, and Steve Bannon all of whom held top positions in the Trump White House. Parker's order Thursday noted that because the Trump campaign "is an entity" — not a person — "it may not represent itself." "Thus, if the motion to withdraw is granted, the Campaign will be at risk of default if it does not promptly obtain substitute counsel," the judge wrote.

The law firm at LaRocca, Hornik, Greenberg, Kittredge, Carlin & McPartland asked to withdraw from the case filed by Arlene "A.J." Delgado told Parker in a filing Monday that she objected to LaRocca, Hornik's motion to withdraw from the case. Defendants include Donald J. Trump For President, Inc., former Trump White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, former White House advisor Steve Bannon and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer. Delgado noted that on April 24, Parker had granted her request that Trump's campaign "must produce any complaints of: gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, and sexual harassment, through the 2020-election cycle." CNBC has requested comment from one of LaRocca, Hornik's lawyers, and from a spokesman for Trump's current campaign for president.

This in effect creates an 'implied' 2H of 2024 guidance that is perhaps excessively optimistic," CEO Adam Parker wrote Sunday. Parker's warning comes after S & P 500 reported earnings growth of 4.2% for the fourth quarter on a year-over-year basis, per FactSet. He also screened for stocks in which there's a big difference between earnings expectations for the first and the second half of the year. Parker surmises that these stocks may disappoint on these aggressive earnings turnarounds. Consensus estimates from analysts surveyed by FactSet suggest the stock, which is down nearly 5% this year, could gain 13.2% from Monday's close.

But it also risks making your marketing "too generic," warns Sandra Parker, the founder of Just The Tonic Coaching. "From the very start of my business, I knew exactly who I could help and who I couldn't," Parker told My Biggest Lessons. Today, her business targets high-achieving individuals who face challenges similar to those she had early in her career. "I understand their frustrations, I understand their fears, and I understand their coping mechanisms and the stories they're telling themselves," Parker said. "Because of that, I'm able to market very effectively, to speak in a language that they understand, and am able to reach them."

That's one of 10 investing predictions for the next 10 years by the Trivariate Research market strategist. "We have always said 'we prefer a basket of high-quality US growth equities'" when asked about crypto, Parker said in a note over the weekend. "Missing the appreciation of the asset class is not good, but participating in US growth equities has been more than adequate." "Because it is just a proxy for risk taking, investors can mirror the exposure of a basket of crypto through low quality hyper growth stocks," he added. "This sector checks all the boxes … We think there will be continued consolidation, so owning oil-sensitive energy stocks that are mid-cap likely will prove prudent," he said.

During that time, Parker's living space was a prime example of the "sad beige" aesthetic, she said. For Parker, "sad beige" is the opposite. "There's nothing wrong with 'sad beige,' but I think it was just kind of the forced conformity of it." She thinks millennials initially swayed toward "sad beige" because it was the opposite of the homes they grew up in. (AP) — The Mississippi sheriff who leads the department where former deputies pleaded guilty to a long list of state and federal charges for the torture of two Black men has asked a federal court to dismiss a civil lawsuit against him. Court records show that attorney Jase Dare asked to dismiss the lawsuit on Oct. 6, just one day after a settlement conference was filed with the court. A settlement conference is scheduled when the parties in a lawsuit try to settle a case before trial. One of those men was Pierre Woods, who was shot and killed by Rankin County deputies in 2019. At above 36 times sales, Nvidia's shares are trading at their highest valuation ever, according to Trivariate Research. Adam Parker's research firm looked at all the other times in market history when stocks traded above a 36 price-to-sales ratio and what happened next. When Nvidia joined the trillion-dollar market cap club briefly last week, it was clearly based on anticipation of a future AI revenue windfall. To be clear, Parker and his firm are not advocating shorting Nvidia's stock anytime soon. Still, the eye-popping valuation should give investors looking to buy Nvidia at these levels some pause.

WASHINGTON, June 3 (Reuters) - A federal judge has ruled that Tennessee's law restricting drag performances in public or where children were present was unconstitutional, striking a blow to efforts in U.S. states to regulate LGBTQ conduct. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee in February had signed the bill passed by the state's assembly that aimed to restrict drag performances, putting the state at the forefront of a Republican-led effort to limit drag in at least 15 states in recent months. U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker, an appointee of former Republican President Donald Trump, ruled late on Friday that the law was "both unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad." "Simply put, no majority of the Supreme Court has held that sexually explicit — but not obscene — speech receives less protection than political, artistic, or scientific speech," Parker said in the ruling. A Bowlero executive publicly addressed the sprawling federal discrimination probe the company is facing for the first time Wednesday after it reported another quarter of what it called record-breaking growth. The question came about a week after CNBC revealed authorities want to settle the investigation for $60 million. Parker's comments mark the first time a Bowlero executive has publicly addressed the EEOC's probe, which has been ongoing since 2016. When CNBC reached out to Bowlero prior to publishing a report about the probe, the company refused to make its executives available for an interview. The case is now expected to go to court, where Bowlero could face even steeper fines, experts said previously.
The conservative blowback came as no surprise to Parker, who told Nike's board of directors to expect some short-term backlash. In late 2014, the BBC sent a film crew to Portland to interview several former Oregon Project employees. "He would be at the side of the track calling out runners' splits but wouldn't call Kara's out," Adam Goucher told me. When people asked why she left the Oregon Project, she said it was a "personal decision." "I don't think it has anything to do with who the CEO is," Goucher told me.
A New York City house with Spider-Man's address is for sale for $2.1 million. With 4 beds and 3.5 baths, it's a far shot from Peter Parker's working class upbringing in the comics. 20 Ingram Street in Forest Hills, Queens — the home of the fictional family of Spidey, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben — is currently listed on StreetEasy. "As soon as the comic book identified 20 Ingram as the Spider-Man house, they became flooded," Gigi Malek, the realtor who listed the house, told ABC 7. Now, the home is ready for new owners to take on the task of fielding Spider-Man's mail.
My obsession is summed up pretty well by a tweet from @blagojevism: "George Santos is essentially a 19th-century character. Media depicting these characters found inspiration from real life: in a time before digital records and facial recognition, opportunity was everywhere. George Santos's brand of full-throated scammery is particularly American, something that belongs to this country as much as Abraham Lincoln and apple pie. The phrase "and if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you" comes from his legendary real-life method. But Santos, so far, has avoided jail time, giving him at least one leg up over the Yellow Kid.
Since March, Rosenberg has warned that by trying to crush inflation, the Fed would inadvertently kill the economy as well. "I think that the odds now are that it's going to be more severe than people think because the Fed has gone way overboard," Rosenberg said of a recession. The contrarian view: With inflation falling, a recession is no guaranteeHowever, not every strategist thinks that a recession is a sure thing. But what I think we can see is the Federal Reserve is overdoing it and eventually, the Fed will have to cut rates." Fittingly, Parker's bets are contingent on his view that the US economy won't suffer from a severe recession.
At Nike, Parker engineered the company's direct-to-consumer push. During his 14 years as Nike CEO, the company's revenue nearly tripled. In 2017, as Nike CEO, Parker introduced the Consumer Direct Offense, an aggressive direct-sales push that's been a winner with Wall Street, although frustrating some on Main Street. While he was Nike CEO, Parker frequently used the phrase "always on the offense" to describe the company's aggressive approach to growing sales and market share. The company's stock climbed more than 760% during his CEO tenure, far exceeding the market.
Former Nike CEO Mark Parker will become chairman of The Walt Disney Co. on March 9. Parker remains executive chairman of Nike, where he was CEO from 2006 to 2020. Parker, who's been on Disney's board for seven years, also serves as executive chairman of Nike. The move comes less than two months after Bob Iger returned as Disney's CEO. Parker served as CEO of Nike from 2006 t0 2020, a period of enormous growth for the sportswear brand.
